Kavak inaugurates on-site vehicle services center in partnership with the Government of the State of Mexico

  • The partnership now allows for the most common vehicle procedures to be completed at the time of purchase or sale, reducing processing times for Kavak customers by up to six times compared to traditional channels.
  • The company aims to replicate this model in other states across the country as part of its strategy to expand access to pre-owned vehicles in Mexico.

Lerma, State of Mexico, March 10, 2026 — Kavak, the leading digital platform for buying, selling, financing, and servicing pre-owned vehicles in Latin America and emerging markets, in partnership with the Ministry of Finance of the State of Mexico, inaugurated a new on-site vehicle procedures services center this week at its Lerma facility. The initiative integrates key vehicle procedures directly into the transaction process, improving efficiency and customer experience.

Faster, more accessible vehicle procedures

The new vehicle services center, located at one of Kavak’s highest-volume hubs, enables customers to complete procedures such as license plate registration and deregistration, change of ownership, replacement of registration cards, and vehicle registration permits directly at the point of transaction, eliminating the need for additional visits to government offices.

In Mexico, these procedures often require multiple in-person visits and several days of processing. With this integration, they can now be completed up to six times faster than through traditional channels, allowing for quicker vehicle delivery—including same-day delivery where applicable—and providing greater certainty throughout the transaction.

Advancing formality and traceability in the automotive market

This initiative is part of a broader strategy to integrate regulatory processes into Kavak’s technology platform, helping to strengthen formality and traceability in Mexico’s pre-owned vehicle market.

“We celebrate this partnership with Kavak, which brings vehicle procedures closer to users and allows them to complete ownership transfers or receive their license plates on the spot, representing a meaningful benefit for residents of the State of Mexico,” said the Ministry of Finance of the State of Mexico.

This module marks an important step forward in our strategy to continuously improve the customer experience by enabling the most common procedures associated with buying or selling a vehicle to be completed on site. We are grateful to the Government of the State of Mexico for its openness to innovative collaboration models that put customers at the center and simplify what has traditionally been a complex process. We are confident that this initiative can be replicated in other states in the coming months,” added Saúl Crespo Laborem, Vice President of Public Affairs at Kavak.

The Lerma module will serve as a benchmark for expanding this model to other states throughout 2026, as part of the company’s plan to strengthen vehicle ownership formalization and broaden access to reliable pre-owned vehicles in Mexico.
