Mexico City, November 5, 2025 — Kavak, the digital ecosystem transforming the car ownership experience, announces the launch of Kavak Crédito, marking its evolution from a car buying and selling startup to a complete vehicle access and financial services platform. This expansion strengthens Kavak’s relationship with customers and consolidates its role as a key driver of Latin America’s technological and economic transformation.

In Mexico, where access to credit remains a challenge for millions, Kavak Crédito is reshaping the local landscape by expanding access to financing through two complementary solutions: Meses and Préstamo.
“In the United States, 7 out of 10 people have access to auto financing, while in Latin America, only 2 do, creating a major opportunity gap. Kavak Crédito was designed to close that gap, with products aligned to each customer’s reality and the tools they need to reach the car of their dreams,” stated Carlos García Ottati, Founder and CEO of Kavak.
After carefully understanding the key frictions that prevent many Mexicans from accessing a car, Kavak Crédito developed two innovative products — Meses and Préstamo — designed to simplify the process and expand financial inclusion through technology.
Meses simplifies car ownership with flexible installments starting from $2,499 MXN. Customers can choose from over 6,000 cars, make a down payment starting at 15%, and finance their purchase for up to 72 months, all through a 100% online and transparent process. With 7 out of 10 applications pre-approved and 40% of clients with no prior credit history, Meses is opening the door to first-time car ownership for thousands of people. In parallel, Préstamo offers vehicle owners fast and competitive access to cash without selling or giving up their cars. Customers can request loans for up to 60% of their car’s value.
Through a 100% online process, they can repay their loan over up to 60 months while continuing to use their vehicle freely. More than 1,000 customers have already used it to refinance debts, start a business, or cover unexpected expenses.
“With Kavak Crédito, we’re breaking down the barriers that have kept millions from accessing a car. In regions where mobility defines opportunity, we’re using technology and data to build fairer, more accessible financial solutions for everyone. Our vision is to create a future where owning a car is not a privilege but a possibility within everyone’s reach,” added García Ottati.
In Mexico, 40% of customers who buy a car through Kavak are doing so for the first time in their lives. With Kavak Crédito, the company is building a bridge between mobility and digital finance, expanding access to car ownership and strengthening its position as a key driver in Latin America’s technological and economic transformation.
